The ‘Bloody Valentine’ singer’s Sixth Studio Album, ‘Mainstream Sellout,’ was released on Friday, March 25 and includes the song ‘Make Up Sex.’
Machine Gun Kelly’s music video for “Make Up Sex” with Blackbear is hilarious. The video, which was released on Tuesday, March 29, shows the “Bloody Valentine” rocker surrounded by dozens of cats in a pink bedroom.
Kelly begins the video by singing and strumming his guitar in front of his bed, dressed in bright costumes. The singer/rapper spends some time in bed with his cats. One of the cats even begins to chew on his guitar’s wiring.
The screen is subsequently taken over by Blackbear, who emerges from a swarm of silver balloons. “You’re my only drug, you’re my only vice, yeah/ Fking then we fk, you’re my only type, yeah/ Mixing terrible judgments with one night stands and Hennessey/ All I got is this broken heart, but you can have the rest of me,” he sings.
“Yeah, break up just to make up/ You’re gone when I wake up/ Yeah, break up just to make up,” she says. Kelly sings the chorus later on. “When you come back, I’ll be waiting (I’m missing you)/ There’s something you’re not saying,” Blackbear adds.
Kelly’s sixth studio album, “Mainstream Sellout,” dropped on Friday, and “Make Up Sex” is one of the songs on it. Bring Me the Horizon (“Maybe”), Lil Wayne (“Drug Dealer”), Gunna, Young Thug, and Landon Barker (“Die in California”), as well as Willow Smith, make cameo appearances on the album (“Emo Girl”).
“To be a Black woman and be able to come on that song and write my verse with my outlook on life — just being able to be truly me on that song — those are the types of things that are going to make more people feel noticed,” Willow told Rolling Stone in November. “That’s the most beautiful aspect of music,” Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s daughter added.
