Jay Cartier released groovy new song ‘You Don’t Love Me No More (feat. SEVNGOINDIGITAL)’
The vocal sample at the start of the song served as the inspiration for ‘You Don’t Love Me No More’, on which Jay based the straightforward but powerful production. There are about three different renditions of this song, but he ultimately thought that the earlier ones lacked something. Originally, the song had a vocal sample separating two melodic verses. However, it didn’t yet feel like it was done. He abandoned it and combined the strongest passages from each verse into a single verse to convey his point more succinctly. He spent about 15 minutes writing the second verse, and he wanted to write something that he felt anyone who had ever been in a relationship—whether it worked out or not—could identify with.
Even after reading that verse, he thought there was still something missing. A friend of his had recently shared a song by SEVNGOINDIGITAL, so he checked it out. As soon as Jay heard his music, he knew he could bring something unique to this song. As a result, he gave him full creative control of the record’s back end, and SEVNGOINDIGITAL did not let him down.
