kaleidoscope by Randy Beth: Review
Since picking up the guitar and writing her own songs, Randy Beth has known that she has found her real calling. After making a debut last year, the New York-based singer-songwriter has continued to put out new music, most recently releasing the third track titled โkaleidoscope.โ
The song is a pop hybrid with an R&B influence that sounds like it could have been released in the 2000s. The rugged, yet elegant melodies and arrangement strike a good balance that elevates the comforting voices while enticing you to follow along. The keyboards, synths, guitars, and drum beats all feel well-crafted and are laden with dozens of small sonic details across the records, giving the music a rich, mesmerizing, and luxurious soundscape. According to Beth, โKaleidoscopeโ is a song about the joy that may be found in the most unexpected places. In the beginning, the background white noise and light-hearted giggles set the glistening atmosphere for the romance ahead. And as the story unfolds, the song progresses to the end with a heavenly choir, clapping sounds, and mellow piano, leaving a lingering impression that makes listeners want to press replay.
Quotable lyrics:
โShe was a reflection of my light
On an autumn night
It was a surprise
Two hearts one bruise
Bury it inside to conceal my truth
I see myself in youโ
I canโt wait for Randy Bethโs name to explode into stardom with the magnificent soundscape she was able to demonstrate in this single and her prior tracks. Check out the song below.
