Karisma Ape by Lato: Review
Experimentation and indie rock fuse together with Lato’s moody track “Karisma Ape”. The artist incorporates unique bass sections with a weighty essence. It’s almost like the drum and bass parts merged for a resonant sound, and the outcome was indeed satisfying to hear. The vocalist sticks to a lower scale, and it contributes to the edge and authenticity of “Karisma Ape.”
Lato’s track sets the tone of 90s grunge and combines mellow rock from the early 2000s. The elements of nostalgia worked their way to my soul, especially with the versatile sound of my youthful influences. What vibed with me the most was the instrumental outfit the artist put on. From deep bass lines with subtle fillers with the guitar, the tension of “Karisma Ape” is minimal, but packs a solid punch. Minimal music is an attribute I admire to this day, it separates all the unnecessary notes and makes a track truly shine through its melody and harmony. Evidently, Lato’s musical chemistry reminded me of that nature, and I wouldn’t prefer it any other way.
The vocalist’s tone pertains to the facets of spoken word with gloomy rock. The fusion is interesting, and quite poetic too. There’s an air of mystery surrounding the artist. That’s a stellar trait to have, ‘cause you want the audience to wonder about your stance in the biz. That way the melodic persona always stays fresh, just like Lato’s track “Karisma Ape.”
