Keep on Keeping On by Ruby Nixxons: Review
Classic 70s and 80s Rock inspired band Ruby Nixxons sensationally plays their track entitled “Keep on Keeping On”. Behind the force of the band lies, Dan Briody, Gordon Chalmers, and Steve Mosley. As a unit, their teamwork, and musical persona are undeniable as they display the grit and power of classic rock.
Great rhythm section? Check. Powerful vocals, check and check. Don’t forget the surprise, that comes in the form of a vintage blues-inspired solo, that too triple-check. “Keep on Keeping On” by Ruby Nixxons takes you back to a time when cassette players and vinyl record stations were the ‘in’ thing to rocking out to favorite melodies. But, also the production value and musical knowledge garnered from the track hint at a modern twist as well. It is particularly because of the singer’s ability to maintain a groove alongside the instrumentation, it all still feels the spirit of youth kept alive through detailed and fun guitar-driven sequences.
Whenever the power chord hits on the guitar, my soul felt revived, and the memories of learning my first power chord come back. It is because the guitar sections have plenty of clarity that truly highlights it, and allows me to listen to it with more virtue. “Keep on Keeping On” by Ruby Nixxons has the appeal of a road song, blended with a perfect track to introduce someone to rock and roll through gritty guitar sections and an upbeat bass line too!
