The year is 2023 and with the recent surge in the development of Artificial Intelligence, AI is everywhere.
While it is making our lives easier in many aspects, there’s an unsuspecting evil lurking in the dark. As we grow more and more dependent on AI to do our jobs, we are slowly growing apart from them losing the human touch. Kmalectro’s latest release ‘chez moi’ tells this story with a song crafted with futuristic sounds, head-bopping syncopated beats, and bright catchy melodies. This AI-inspired electronic track inspires authenticity and the human element in not only arts and music but in every aspect of life. Let’s hear it from the artist himself.
1. First of all, interesting name! Chez Moi, which is French for “home”, what’s the story and inspiration behind it?
Kmalectro: Hello folks, thank you for the interview and thank you for supporting me. The questions are very exciting. There is so much happening on our planet right now. Artificial intelligence has been completely forgotten here in recent years. I’ve been observing with interest how emotions are being integrated into the AI.
Who knows this ?
Does the alarm clock ring in the morning?
You turn around 2 more times and press snooze or stand up directly.
Then it’s off to the bathroom and maybe the cell phone is already in your hand.
Then it’s off to the kitchen for coffee or breakfast, or off you go straight away.
If we observe our processes, they are only repetitions in everyday life.
So they are programs, here comes the emotion factor :-)
Again, we know when to smile and when to be sad or angry.
In certain kindergartens in Asia, children are individually educated and nurtured by robots – no kidding.
Here you could say that one child learns faster and more through words and the other through pictures etc. This is recorded and optimized.
Can we be replaced ?
What is it made for?
Who uses it?
So many questions and I can’t answer them.
I think we have to deal with it, but we can preserve and protect our inner house in which our “soul” resides.
Stay awake so that we notice everything and don’t dream, at some point it is very difficult for us to wake up.

2. What was your creative process like for this song? With the recent surge of AI in every field of work around us, how did you want to address it? Were you chasing any particular sound and did you face any creative challenges in the making of this song?
Kmalectro: I love CREAtivity and it’s not the success I’m looking for. I often work on sound and crafts on my synthesizers but my favorite thing is to make a song.
The biggest challenge for me is the arrangement. After that the song is finished and somehow I never want that :-) because I already feel happiness in the process. I don’t know if anyone understands it :-) and yet the process is important in order to be allowed to write the next title.
I delight in DOING. Crafting is what makes me happy and then sharing it with people.
After that I produce the video footage and edit and produce/film and work my way into animation.
I do everything I can to create my image.
During the process I don’t think about what the result will be – it’s a do for me at the moment.
Art is the way we express ourselves,
Our stories, our struggles, our personal hells,
It’s our individuality that compels,
And copying with AI is just a cell.
We gotta keep our creativity alive,
Not let machines take over and thrive,
For our uniqueness is what drives,
And that’s something we gotta strive.
3. In what aspects do you think your audiences are gonna connect with the song? Do you feel your audiences feel the same about the issues the song addresses or do you feel like you know something they don’t?
Kmalectro: I think the audience can feel what I’m thinking. You can’t be sure here, but some have written to me and shared their worries and joys with me.
That was great – to be able to share my art.
The arts are the heartbeat of our soul,
They keep us together, make us whole,
But copying with machines is just a toll,
A highway to a future that’s dull and cold.
Let’s remember what art is all about,
It’s our emotions, our voice, our clout,
We can’t let machines take that route,
For our creativity is what life is all about.
4. As mostly an instrumental artist, do you ever feel your audiences are not exactly getting the message you’re trying to convey through your music because of its lack of words?
Kmalectro: A very good question.
I would say that music speaks and words are overrated. Nevertheless, they are very important.
The art is that music stimulates thinking and feeling. This is not about a fixed thought, but about the individual. Oh my God – I hope you understand that ;-)

5. Do you have a favorite motto, phrase, or piece of advice, you try to live or inspire yourself by? And do you have a specific vision or goal set in your mind that you would like to achieve in the near future?
Kmalectro: My favorite motto is LOVE without prejudice. This is what I practice every day. I inspire myself with an open mind and with many questions of course we are connected and that is what I try to find in many ways. My vision is to get to an Dj set of a special place and play my music. That is what I would like to do, but its not so import to reach. Already I have everything and I am Free of wishes. That is my truth.
I have FOOD, LOVE, Water, humans and inner Peace.
Its every day a job not to forget how privileged I am.
