Kofi releases โOn Meโ and talks about his upcoming album.

Kofi, a Toronto-based artist, has just released his new single โOn Me.โ With the track, he teases his next album Why Not?, which will be released on Red Bull Records on May 20.
โOn Me,โ written and produced by Kofi, is propelled by an Afro-inspired beat. Itโs the follow-up to last monthโs hit single โHaunt Me,โ which featured 2KBABY.
โโOn Meโ is one of my favorite tracks on the album; itโs the most โKofiโ song.โ โIโm understanding that I can really only blame myself for what went wrong with former relationships,โ Kofi says of the single, which is a continuation of the theme of โHaunt Me.โ
With the release of Why Not? just in time for summer, Kofi is following in his fatherโs footsteps by releasing music to accompany the warm weather. Kofiโs summer tune โBabygirlโ from 2020 established a pattern of joyful genre-bending tracks.
Around the time of the release of โBabygirl,โ he told Complex Canada, โItโs still not apparent if I want to do hip-hop, R&B, or dancehall, but the environment that I was in at the time when I started recording songs, it was all just rap.โ
โGrowing up in a hip-hop family, I was always working with hip-hop artists.โ Itโs not just the music genre; itโs also the way of life.โ
