Life Stories by CMK Beats: Album Review

My admiration for dance music is endless. Particularly the energy and artists’ creativity, especially those from the indie music biz uplifts me. So, today we are greeted by the exceptional groove of CMK Beats and their EDM-fueled album “Life Stories.” If you had to pack all your positive emotions in one package, add in layers of synths, beats, a groundbreaking bass, and some guitars then wouldn’t your life be complete folks?
Our escapade starts with the self-titled “Life Stories” a minimal electronica track guaranteed to initiate the first wave of dance. The song pertains to the intrigue that early Armin van Buuren brought us back in the early 2000s, along with a pleasant vocal chemistry. Next up on the list is the funktastic “Highs and Lows”, a disco-style guitar-driven track meant to fire you right up. The entirety of the song is made up of uplifting segments, and the cadence is just lovely to hear. The rhythm patterns in particular flow quite nicely, and when the bass joins in an element of mystery is presented.
The album’s melancholy is felt in “I Miss You.” The melody guides you in with a baritone vocal passage and soothing synthesizers. Hearing the ode brought on a weighty essence that is tough to ignore, ‘cause the sentiment is widely relatable. Finally, a heavy bass arrangement and an elegant singer at the mic are all you need to inspire your senses as evident from the ending tune “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now”.
