Live in Hamburg (Vol. 1) by Sloppy Joe’s: EP Review
German rock powerhouse Sloppy Joe’s EP Live in Hamburg (Vol. 1) is a sensational take for any classic rock and metal fan. The genre appeal arrives with epic vocal pieces that’ll electrify your soul. Aside from that, the epic guitar riffs, drums, and basslines contribute to a fantastic sound that Sloppy Joe’s as a trio accomplishes with finesse.
Opening up the EP with “Devil’s Music” was the dose of nostalgia I truly needed. The high-energy guitar and vocal passages reignited my passion for heavy metal. Aside from that, a lovely blend of rock is also prevalent, and hearing it takes me back to my youth! Up next is “Right Decision”, and this tune has a bit of sway in the tempo. The drummer lets out a beastly aura and commands the flow of the track. Aside from that, fast-paced riffs covered the piece and were invigorating to experience. While that feeling continued to surface, the vibe of “Lonesome No.1” joined in on the fun. Albeit, with a touch of melancholy, nonetheless this song was a thrill because of its galloping bass sections and poetic lyrics.
Hearing the crowd’s response uplifted me to the core, and man, I wish I’d been there to witness it. Thus, out came the rock chants of “Make Some Noise” to add to that excitement. An array of guitar riffs and crowd energy mixed for a sensational aura. The last track, “Some Broken Hearts Never Mend,” adds a softer side to the band, and it was pretty refreshing to hear.
