Lord Huron release a new music video for ‘Your Other Life’ + Album
Long Lost (Deluxe Edition) is a deluxe edition of Lord Huron’s critically praised fourth full-length album, Long Lost. Two new songs, “Your Other Life” and “Ton Autre Vie,” have been added to the album’s tracklisting. Long Lost (Deluxe Edition) can be heard HERE.
Both sides of the same coin are reflected in the music. Lord Huron vocalist and songwriter Ben Schneider performs “Your Other Life” in English over a dusky beat and dreamy orchestration, while Sarah Dugas sings “Ton Autre Vie” in French over the same aural backdrop.
Lord Huron has also established a new website with an innovative video player, inviting viewers even further into the realm of Long Lost. In order to create the first-ever “Music Video As A Multiverse,” the band shot music videos for each song in the same location with filmmaker Lee Martin. You can utilize a fader control on the site to move back and forth between the graphics while keeping the time position the same. If you put the fader in the middle, you’ll see the two stories collide, revealing a beautiful bilingual duet between Schneider and Dugas. On his website, director Lee Martin explains more about the video’s innovative technique.
See below for Schneider’s statement on “Your Other Life” and “Ton Autre Vie.”
Lord Huron is presently on their summer headline tour across North America. Along the way, the band will perform at a variety of renowned sites, including the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA (May 25), Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO (June 1-2), Forest Hills Stadium in New York City (August 19), and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD (August 21). First Aid Kit, Erin Rae, Leith Ross, Ada Lea, Maia Friedman, and Bully are all performing on different nights.
Lord Huron is still riding high on the success of their latest album Long Lost, which debuted at #1 on the Americana/Folk Album and Tastemaker Albums Chart, #2 on the Vinyl Albums & Alternative Albums Chart, #3 on the Top Rock Albums Chart, #4 on the Top Album Sales Chart, and #23 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Wall Street Journal, Brooklyn Vegan, NPR, American Songwriter, Have Music, Uproxx, WNYC, Flood, JamBase, and others all praised Lord Huron’s immersive world in Long Lost. Not to add, it received an 88 on Metacritic, a website that compiles critical and user evaluations from around the world.
