Love It All by New Jersey indie-pop artist Bailey Grey lands as a full-length autobiography set to melody, as a roller coaster of lived experience and vulnerability cut open. A lifelong performer raised in a home where music was the family language, Grey spent her childhood on Broadway stages and later trained in London before turning inward, tired of living inside other people’s stories. Her debut LP Love It All becomes the antidote as a body of work that lets her reclaim authorship, blending indie-pop, jazz, blues, and alt-rock into a single emotional kaleidoscope. It’s an album about resilience, the messy beauty of imperfection, and learning to embrace every high and low that shapes a life.
The title track, “Love It All,” opens on a warm, shimmering indie-pop brightness as Grey’s tender voice reaches upward with dreamy optimism. Her lyrics feel like a manifesto, wanting to “reach into the sky and let the stars fall,” wanting art big enough to hold the chaos of modern life. The arrangement swells with polyrhythms and airy harmonies, mirroring how she maps her inner world onto sound.
Then the mood pivots with “Out in Under,” a jazzy pop twist full of sass and self-aware humor. She glides through the melody with a playful looseness, unpacking financial pressure and artistic longing without losing her spark. It’s upbeat, catchy, and sharp-edged in all the right ways.
“Battle Cry” pulls the curtain back even further. Against emotive harmonica lines, she sings of the ache of conformity and the relief of carving out quiet space to think. Her tone softens, like a confessional.
Later, “Use Me” brings a piano-driven groove wrapped around surprisingly gentle reflections on death, before the album leaps into the blue-eyed soul of “Get Lost,” the alt-rock bite of “Nothing,” and the springy, sweet ukulele warmth of “When I Fall.” Finally, the raw live take of “Easy” closes things out, perfectly imperfect and honest to the bone.
Across Love It All, Grey doesn’t just tell her story — she invites listeners to find theirs tucked between the lines.
