goodcry’s debut release, “Low,” is an uptempo summer anthem that just oozes happiness, confidence, and good vibes. From the high, shimmering vocal harmonies to the wistful lyrics, this track is a serotonin boost triggered by the sun.

Drawing from nostalgic influences like Circa Waves, The Kooks, MGMT, and The Killers, “Low” blends modern pop styling with a beachy indie rock foundation. The opening chorus, with overt auto-tune and heavy guitar riffs, adds a dynamic texture to the song, making you want to bob your head to the infectious beat.

Despite its fast tempo, “Low” manages to strike a perfect balance, never feeling rushed, allowing you to savor every moment. The storytelling aspect, focusing on a relationship that never quite took off, adds an emotional layer that hits home. What truly steals the show, though, is goodcry’s falsetto voice.

It’s evident that Spencer Hoyt, the creative genius behind goodcry, pours his genuine emotions into his music with impressive vocal range and top-notch storytelling skills, making the track all the more relatable.
