Mercy ft. Nekter Gun by Shannon Hawley: Review
“Mercy” is a captivating rock song by Shannon Hawley that is guaranteed to energize your spirit. The track features Nekter Gun (Hector Gundlach) who did a fantastic production job and sang alongside Shannon’s powerful voice. “Mercy” is one of those melodies that demands your attention through amplified vocal passages. In addition to that, the tempo is led by invigorating drum sections.
The tune initiates with a soft guitar piece and a heartfelt singer at the mic. At first, I imagined “Mercy” to be a folk tune, however as the song progressed I was completely taken aback. A resonating bass entered the mix and an epic percussion segment took form. Altogether it provided a platform for Shannon’s voice to shine. And boy did it shine, her vocal chops are simply stunning, and my soul felt rejoiced at the very essence of it all. She follows the tropes of classic rock setpieces, particularly those that relate to arena rock. With that being said, “Mercy” feels like an anthemic rock piece that would vibe with massive audiences, and I can almost hear the chanting!
Nekter, who also contributed vocals to “Mercy” has a sensational tone. His approach to the track involved Hard Rock and a bit of Bon Jovi’s influence can be felt. With Shannon commanding the vocals, and Nekter’s enthralling segment, Mercy’s melody shall appeal to the masses. Without a doubt, it’s a lovely rock song with plenty of heart.
