It took JaKovche_ a long time to finish his album of 12 tracks, which he began working on in January 2021. Despite its infancy, itβs a great deal because this is an ambient artist from Croatia who debuts here in an unprecedented fashion, with a work that was released on streaming services a few months back and about which Iβll go more in-depth below.
This album, named βMidnight Cigarette,β has 12 tracks that run for over 45 minutes and a sound that combines indie, alternative, dream pop, and bedroom pop with cinematic elements, lo-fi, over a melodic vocal line. From βWhereβs My Lighter?β until the concluding track βGood Night,β I know youβll love the build-up piece by piece. Youβll find that the performance within these numbers tackles many of the challenges and situations the artist faced during their lifetime, especially during the pandemic, and binds them together beautifully with highly rich orchestration. However, if you want to indulge in your own thoughts over a smoke after 2 AM when the world sleeps, just hit play and βMidnight Cigaretteβ will take care of you. Β
As soon as you hear these pieces, you canβt help but fall in love! JaKovche_ will have you intertwined with emotions you havenβt felt in a really long time, as he marks his territory in a mixed state of artistic genres!
