โModern Warfareโ is a new track from EDEN.
EDEN, a Dublin-born singer, songwriter, and producer, has released a new single called โModern Warfareโ today. The song is his first since the release of his sophomore album, no future, in 2020, and sees him expanding on his ever-growing sound palette, effortlessly hopping across genres. Now you may listen to the music below.
The song was self-produced and recorded in EDENโs home studio in London, as with all of his previous albums, and sees him fusing modular synths with physical instruments, drawing out the organic elements of both to create an utterly cerebral delight.
โThis song is a meditation on the blurred lines between life and interaction online and irl,โย EDEN shares of the track.ย โThere was a time where I had rejected certain aspects of social life by refusing to use the tools of our time, and modern warfare came after a period of reintegration. There is a sense of maturity coming into these spaces and situations after time away, despite how urgent everything can feel. An ability to not be dragged into the reactionary anxiety that is so often associated with social media. This is not to say that there isnโt plenty of anxiety to be found elsewhere โ just that knowing what you want from things is a helpful way to avoid getting rekt. Water off a digital duckโs back.โ
The music video depicts EDEN receiving assistance from his buddies in getting his beat-up Toyota Corolla started. It makes no difference if the wipers and rearview mirror are broken or if one of the doors is missing. Itโs all about having a good time.
