โMoving Onโ by Wexford is a rollercoaster ride of emotions guaranteed to get your fist pumping and heart wrenching. This single is the perfect anthem for moving on after having been burned by love.
โMoving Onโ opens with a relatable gut punch: a voicemail left on deaf ears. By then, the guitars start catchily riffing. We got two vocalists here, Dave Mueller and Andy Kohlmann. So the voice sings softly and lowly with emotion and defeat as he wrestles with a love that wasnโt meant to be. But the softness is shattered by a wall of crashing guitars and smashing drums as the soulful vocals erupt, perfectly capturing the frustration and disbelief of a relationship gone wrong. The singers donโt hold back as they lay bare the agony of loss.
The music perfectly mirrors the emotional journey. The next verse comes as the blaze softens and he sings, of having a drink since itโs all done with. But it again explode into a cathartic release during the chorus. Thereโs a moment of quiet reflection in the bridge as it lightens with the instrumentals dying a bit just to come back roaring to life towards the end rising to an angsty crescendoโits final, defiant roar.
The music video is just as intense. Shot in a stark black and white with efects of fiery red spitting flames, it perfectly complements the songโs raw energy. The bandโs performance feels raw and powerful, and the final shot ofย a woman hanging up a rotary phone is a perfect visual metaphor for a slammed door, a closed chapter.
Listen to Wexfordโs last single โMoving Onโ that indicates the upcoming album, Silent Key is coming soon this Summer.
