Never Dream Alone (ft. Carola Zerega & Freddy Dubois) by The Trouble Notes: Review

“Never Dream Alone” is a stellar folk-pop track by The Trouble Notes, involving fantasy themes with a touch of medieval music. It’s a beautiful song with a talented ensemble. The musicians in the spotlight are Carola Zerega (featuring vocals), Bennet Cerven (vocals, violin), Oliver Maguire (percussionist), Florian Eisenschmidt (guitar), Frederic Dubois (featuring pianist), altogether the group performs with plenty of heart to create the lovely folk tune “Never Dream Alone.”
Ever since I was a child, RPG video games and their respective soundtracks had inspired me plenty. So, you can grasp my delight while hearing this influential sound beautifully played out in The Trouble Notes’ song “Never Dream Alone.” The track has a powerful vibe that uplifts you, and the cadence just grows with each passing transition. It’s a lovely number that begins alongside a soft violin and piano passage and progresses into a beat-heavy section. From then on, a Renaissance-inspired verse plays out. Epic fantasy-style vocals enter, with guitars tied in, and a stellar violinist accompanies the singers. Speaking of which, one of the essential highlights is the violin portions of the track, it had an elegant tone and was the drive behind Never Dream Alone’s medieval aura.
Folk music is a historic genre that has paved the way for artists spanning decades. Often the genre may have fixed tropes, but it’s pleasant to hear a nice change of pace in “Never Dream Alone.”
