Never Gonna Be Like It Is On TV b/w Piccadilly Sunrise by The Ruby Tears: Review
The Ruby Tears make sensational music that pays homage to vintage rock. Their music has an intriguing aura that feels nostalgic to hear, especially when one’s upbringing is thoroughly based upon rock and roll from the good old days. Thus, The Ruby Tears captivate our hearts with two sensational rock numbers, “Never Gonna Be Like It Is On TV” and “Piccadilly Sunrise.” So buckle up, folks, because we’re taking a time machine back to the golden age of rock, and it’s gonna be a thrilling experience, that’s for sure.
“Never Gonna Be Like It Is On TV” feels like it was born at the 1969 Woodstock concert. I kept watching videos from that iconic event, and I’m truly glad The Ruby Tears recreated that essence through their music. The track has a lovely guitar segment filled with jangly chords, and the tone is set to slight overdrive. Aside from that, a groovy bassline keeps the pace going, and all the while, a poetic singer grabs the mic. Their style is heavily influenced by 60s and 70s rock icons, and it elates me to hear such resonance in music.
Next up is “Piccadilly Sunrise,” it’s a lovely pop-rock piece filled with brightly accented chords and an energetic bassline. The entire song feels like a kaleidoscopic journey through peace and love in America in the late 1960s. A playful organ joins in, and the tune forms an incredible cadence that is reminiscent of rock’s influential period.
