“New Gods” was shown by Grimes. Stunning video for one of the album’s best songs, “Miss Anthropocene.”
Grimes has released the video for “New Gods,” which is space-futuristic in style, as is much of the singer’s work. Miss Anthropocene, Grimes’ fifth album, was released in February 2020 and included the song.
Grimes, her brother Mac Boucher, and Spanish artist Sevi Iko Domochevski directed the video for “New Gods.”
Grimes’ music video for “Shinigami Eyes,” which features Blackpink’s Jennie, was released earlier this year. This song will be featured on the Fairies Cum First EP, which is set to be published later this year. It could also include the tune “Player of Games,” which was produced for the Rocket League soundtrack last year. Grimes is going to release an album, Book 1, after Fairies Cum First, with a release date to be disclosed.
Grimes not only published “Miss Anthropocene” in 2020, but he also composed music for the game Cyberpunk 2077. The singer appeared in the Doja Cat “Need to Know” video in 2021. Miss Anthropocene is an art project by Grimes in which a new pantheon of modern Gods exist as humanoid versions of the concepts that dominate our lives, such as Climate Change, plastic, biological warfare, social media, etc. In the 21st century, these ideas have replaced the old pagan Gods and concepts. In the song New Gods, the question is posed as to whether we need new gods to survive as a species.
