TEEN PRIME’s album is experimental rock music that puts a fresh spin on the genre. It has an abundance of songs that all range from fast-paced math rock to a bit of jazz rock and just an all-around expression of music.
From creative guitar bits to thunderous drumming sections, the album feels empowering, and its timbres are pretty enthralling to hear. TEEN PRIME makes the kind of music that energizes you but at the same time pushes you to hear the music intentionally. Tracks such as “dad jokes” show the experimental elements mentioned earlier. It’s accompanied by a mysterious guitar bit that partners up with a fast-paced jazz-style drum portion. Other songs, such as “the bukka,” have more of an atmospheric quality. Synths and guitars mix to form ambient textures, and the percussion slows down for an interesting tempo. This aura continues towards soothing pieces such as “smartest song in the building.” A clean math-rock guitar melody plays out, and energetic drumming returns to enhance the tempo.
The ending number, “cherry kiss,” is a psychedelic experience with aggressive percussions. It’s a raw and passionate exploration of mind and melody. Psychedelic effects and thunderous drumming bits combine to unleash a beastly tone that’s cathartic to hear. It’s the perfect track to pump your spirits in the gym. Altogether, TEEN PRIME made a strong impression, and I urge you all to go hear it. It is available for streaming, so enjoy!
