Camden Town metal quartet Reverted delivers a bone-chilling and visceral experience with their latest single, โNo Sympathy.โ A powerful exploration of isolation and its intersection with madness and mental health issues, this track plunges you into a dark and haunting world from the very first note.
โNo Sympathyโ opens with shrill guitar riffing that slithers up eerily, sending shivers down the spine, before bursting into grinding, distorted guitars, and thunderous drums. Lead vocalist Tony Vegaโs gnarly and raspy vocals cut through the chaos with raw energy, delivering lyrics that are dire with frustration, agony, and despair.
Lyrically, โNo Sympathyโ is poetic and exquisite. The words illustrate the inner turmoil and innermost paranoia, as the protagonist grapples with feelings of betrayal and isolation.
The bridge introduces a haunting monologue that possesses you with its assertive and gripping power over you. It is followed with building intensity, where a blistering guitar solo takes center stage and adds to the urgency and desperation.
The cinematographically ingenious music video, directed by multiple-award-winning horror film producer Adam Leader and edited by drummer Ozzy Preciado, complements the song perfectly. It portrays a classic horror with an atmosphere that gets wrought with looming dread. The characters tug desperately at the Ouija board for an intense yet impossible desire for communication and connection in the face of isolation.
Reverted has a whole new album in the making, Beyond The Labyrinth. Anticipate further shreds from the quartet as you jam to this masterfully crafted piece of metal music, โNo Sympathy.โ
