Nothing Like Loving You by Clay Joule: Review
“Nothing Like Loving You” is a delightful track by Clay Joule, featuring a heartfelt theme surrounding animals. The entirety of the number has a distinct country-rock aesthetic building up to it. This comes alive from the energetic and playful sound emanating from the banjo and accompanying guitars too.
I have always liked the graceful dance of melodies in country music. There’s something about the way bluegrass instrumentation connects with a beat and the way melodic cadence flows that makes your body dance in a frenzy. Similarly, the progressions that occur in “Nothing Like Loving You” have a characteristic bounce to them that is especially spontaneous. It is difficult to ignore the wholesome meaning of the song, and the music video maintains a similar tone. Increasingly, people seek enlightening and empowering melodic odes reflecting such subject matter.
Right back to the music! Apart from the natural tempo of the banjos, the guitar grips the track with subtle fillers and solos. Doing so adds to the edge and intensity of the track, all the while adding a bit of color to make the melody flourish. They seem to incorporate a classic country scale, delving right into the fretboard for a polished note arrangement. Ultimately, if you’re truly fond of animals, and enjoy music pertaining to them, this track is right up your alley folks.
