One Coin Two Sides by Willjoy: Review

Willjoy, a Finnish artist, is a rare find. His one-of-a-kind blend of grit and funk into electronic dance music and rock. Over the past two years, he has devoted himself to the music industry, which has resulted in the release of his newest album, One Coin, Two Sides. Its harmonizing production, particularly the upbeat melody of its chorus, is a notable feature.
The album opens with “Welcome,” an infectiously upbeat piece of electronic dance music. It draws you in with gushing, cave-based, rave-inspired childhood nostalgia. The track “Flash” has a lot of adrenaline and excitement building up to its release. If this is an early work by Willjoy, it sounds like he’s been at it for a long time. He has a loud, raspy voice, making us listen to more of his experimental music. “Feel’s lingering tones and “Game On” and “Bell’s frantic beats swept us away. Not to mention, songs like “Broken” and “Life Is Now” showcase Willjoy’s skill as a songwriter, and the tempos of these songs are just right for tossing you on a roller coaster of feelings. You might be fond of the groover look of “Slam Drunk,” but the disco vibes of “Cycle” from the 1980s might be perfect for a night out on the town. We hope that “One Coin, Two Sides” is the first of many albums by Willjoy that you get addicted to, given the album’s wide range of styles.
