One Life by Brendan Lane: Review

The sixth and latest single from singer-songwriter Brendan Lane is an exquisite blend of Funk, Blues, Rock, and Hip Hop. This genre-bending song features Delaware-based rapper QuesMark spitting fire over the funky rhythm to convey an inspiring message.
Love, loss and life-changing adventures are recurring themes in Brendanโs songs and this song is no different. As the name suggests, the song inspires the listeners to seize the day and live life to the fullest no matter how hard it gets. Things can get difficult because of generational trauma and internal struggles, but the song reminds the listeners to hold on and stay focused on their goals.
This inspiring message is delivered in a beautiful genre-bending package of Funk, Blues, Rock, and Hip Hop. Starting with a resonating funky guitar, QuesMark enters the scene with his infectious flow. As he raps over the funky rhythm, the instrumentals slowly grow their intensity in their irresistible groove.ย As it gets to the hook, Branden Laneโs soulful bluesy vocals take the center stage and elevate the song to its peak. How he tastefully merged the genres is a noteworthy feat.
Overall, this song brings out the best of both the Rock and Hip Hop worlds in a funky uplifting tune. Not your typical Rap-Rock song but fans of rap-rock will definitely get the appeal.
