Old High School friends Ed Conley and Ben Thompson came together to create the 12-track album “One Night Volume,” released on February 25, 2024. Ed is a versatile musician, possessing the ability to play various instruments. This is highlighted in this album, where he plays drums, guitar, and bass while his old friend Ben Thompson takes over the vocalist role.
“One Night Volume” was recorded at Reactor Studios Belleville and took inspiration from the American rock bands 30 Seconds to Mars and Angels and Airwaves. It blends elements of punk rock, pop, and R&B to create an album filled with apt alternative music.
“Children Of Men” is the opening track of this album that immediately hits you with the rhythmic crashing of drums and thundering guitar, followed by Ben’s outstanding vocals. This track has a smooth-flowing vocal melody, and the way Ben says, “Close your eyes, I will be right here when you wake up,” lulls the listener into the song, giving the feeling that everything will be “alright” even if “the waves break upon us.”
“I Am Soldier” starts with a low rhythm, which slowly builds up to a hardcore, fast-paced mix of guitar and drums, followed up by more gritty-sounding loud vocals, which will have you head-banging to this song off the bat. This track is an anthem to keep “fighting on” even if life feels like a battlefield, carry yourself like a soldier. “(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight” closes this album with a banger.
Listen to “One Night Volume” by Conley Music to enjoy a collection of rocking music that will have you nodding your head away.
