Opportunities by Vince Chinaski: Review
Vince Chinaski considers โOpportunities donโt come knocking on the doorโ as a reminder to take your chances for something better yet to come, in his song โOpportunities.โ It speaks to everybody who has ever thought their life was at a turning point.
The song takes off with gentle guitar work and a magical sprinkle of chords, after which Vince starts singing. Chinaski narrates, his distinctive voice perfectly conveying the emotions of a heartbreaking tale of migrants risking everything to cross land and sea in quest of a better life, and credits the struggles of refugees throughout the world as an inspiration for the song. He almost sounds like Joel from โThe Last of Usโ singing for his little girl Ellie. You can catch the little emotional strings in his singing, accompanied by orchestra-like instrumentation which set off with the beat of the drum stamped two minutes into the song. The gentle tempo and soothing guitar riffs are a lovely addition to the songโs progression. In its harmony, the melody rises and falls over the ocean of chords like it is being carried on the waves, and it sounds both soothing and dangerous simultaneously.
This song is a must-listen as it takes you on a tumultuous yet lovely trip filled with dramatic, vulnerable, and honest retelling. It will tug at your heart and make your minds wander before you tread into the next chapter of your life.
