Overboard carries you through chillout, psychedelic experimental electronic music and a kaleidoscope of genres and influences guided by the masterful hand of Boston techno music veteran George Bolton and his project, the Screaming Pope.
Released on March 22nd, Overboard was recorded in the comfort of the Screaming Popeโs home studio in Boston. It all begins with โWhat You Have,โ which pulls us in with its infectious riff and the silky-smooth vocals of female vocals. As she croons about the desire for reassurance in love, the music wraps around her words like a warm embrace.
โCity Lightsโ takes us deeper into the nocturnal landscape of the album, with its pulsating percussion shaking it up over a soft and slow gentle melody. Here, a soulful female voice emerges from the shadows every now and then, humming and lulling to the hypnotic groove.
โInside My Headโ ventures into more experimental territory, with its heavy-hitting beats and siren-like vocals creating an intoxicating blend of intensity and allure. The music throbs and pulses with electrifying energy and pushes you to the inner recesses of the mind. โFeeling Aloneโ slows the pace down to a gentle sway, with a breathy male voice lamenting loneliness over a mellow instrumental.
Finally, โExoplanet PVL14โ serves as the epic conclusion to this 16-track sonic odyssey. As rain sound effects shower over atmospheric drones and techno flourishes, dreamy glinting sparkles enchant cinematic and haunting swells of sound. Find yourself in the most distant realms of the imagination.
Nowโs your turn to go Overboard in creativity and imagination as you plug the Screaming Pope to your ears.
