Paul Cardall released serene new track ‘September Winds’
Paul Cardall, a Grammy-winning pianist and composer, has released two distinct iterations of his eagerly awaited instrumental album, ‘December’. The renowned pianist released the album, which combined piano with a string ensemble, on December 3 in both a digital and physical form. Then, on December 10, a digital-only solo piano version became available.
With the exception of ‘Hush, Little Baby’, all 14 tracks on both editions of the album are original compositions by Cardall and are minimalist classical in style. With ‘September Winds’, the pianist takes listeners on a journey from the emergence of a new moon in September all the way to the New Year.
Cardall’s style and technique have developed into a modern Classical style in the 20 years he has been recording. Each piece has a clear structure, straightforward compositional methods, manageable technical demands, and fundamental harmonies. His compositions have meditative melodies and straightforward but potent string accompaniments.
