‘READY FOR COMBAT’ IS A BRUISING NEW TRACK FROM ICON FOR HIRE. FIGHT!
Icon For Hire have returned with their first new music since the release of their most recent full-length, ‘Amorphous,’ and it’s a fight to the finish.
‘Ready For Combat’ is a brazen and defiant piece of hard rock pandemonium, full of muscle-pumping heft and encouraging vocal refrains. It’s the kind of tune that gets your blood pumping and wonderfully showcases the band’s darker, grittier side.
Vocalist Ariel Bloomer had this to say about the tune:
“I’m demanding a fight, insisting that my demons come out to meet me. It actually feels amazing to acknowledge this angrier side of me. As women we often don’t have the space and freedom to do that, so it feels good to create some space with this song”.
And guitarist Shawn Jump had this to add:
“It’s pure aggression from the start, it doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles we usually incorporate in our song.”
