Reflexions & Strings by Trevour Amunga: EP Review

Trevour Amunga is a sensational hip-hop artist guaranteed to thrill your senses. His EP, entitled “Reflexions & Strings,” is a mix of electronica, dance music, and just all-out rap. The lyrics feel fresh, and the rhythm is top-notch. Thus, with everything combined, the record is pretty fascinating and excites you instantly.
The EP starts with a banger called “86 Porsche,” and it makes a solid impression from the very start. A mix of clean synths and jazzy beats paved the way for Trevour’s performance to be highlighted. The rap feels authentic and has a powerful drive. It’s ideal for hearing on full blast while you’re cruising in a Porsche of your own on a night out. Next up is the ecstatic number “Home.” The track’s intro piqued my interest with this bluesy rhythm section. Eventually, when the beat drops and the rap starts, the music is on full throttle and energizes you. There’s a transition near the end where the ambiance slows down, but it returns for one last rap bit with a chill guitar tagging along. Speaking of chill, “Magic” is such a relaxing piece. The entire track is filled with layers of soul and RnB, where clean vocals and rap bars are executed. It also features Luna Bands and is a stellar tune from start to finish.
Exiting the EP with tracks such as “Stargirl 94” and “Chains” felt like a fitting send-off. While the first one has a pop-ish aura, the second one unleashes an epic hip-hop cadence.
