Return To Dust by Mild Horses: Album Review
Mild Horses are a musical act that creates fantastic psychedelic tones. Along with aspects of dream pop, their album, “Return To Dust,” is a must-hear for all fans of the aforementioned genres. Each melody is like a dream sequence, surfacing in the form of extreme synth effects and beastly percussions. Altogether, the instrumental and vocal aspects create a trippy sequence that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
There’s something truly stellar about the psychedelic genre. It taps into your psyche and feels like a melody for your consciousness. With its mysterious and ethereal rhythms, a spiritual cadence is formed that transports us somewhere exciting. A similar sentiment comes through with “The Work,” which is an atmospheric piece filled with space-like synths. Aside from that, the resonance of dream pop can be heard in “Peloton Doomscroll.” The more ambient sections at least, because eventually Mild Horses transitions into a psychedelic rock frenzy that pertains to the idea of distorted dimensions and a vibrant melody forming within it. Thus far, the album is a voyage into the depths of all things psychedelia. The musician has an edge in that genre, and it’s fascinating to hear their emotions come alive through song.
If you’re new to the dream pop genre or even if psychedelic rock is your cup of tea, give Mild Horses’ music a try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. It’ll be an experience you’ll remember with each repetition.
