Rft by Brujo: Review
Brujo is an energetic band comprised of 4 talented artists who have already made waves in the Oklahoma music scene. Their song ‘Rft’ is a wonderful combination of psychedelic guitar works, a groovy bass line, percussions set for any tempo, and strong vocal elements.
What was interesting to me is that the first half of the song was filled with fierce and bluesy guitar riffs. And the second half, the tempo completely changed. It’s almost like a completely different song. This is because the music changes from rock and roll to a slow blues track. A fuzzy bass solo is present which was a nice surprise indeed. In the second half, an organ arrangement enters the section and it’s a smooth one at that. The guitar solo at the end is magnificent and hits all the right notes for a mesmerizing moment. The vocals carry a larger harmony near the end, and honestly, I applaud the band for their creativity!
Just when you thought they were done, at the end of ‘Rft’, Brujo manages to pull one last trick up their sleeve and finish an energetic note similar to the first part of the song. There’s a sense of comradery present with each member of the band. This is quite evident because their instrumental chemistry is simply sensational. Once they start going, they run for it. But, when the time comes for them to sway to the groove, well let’s just say that interlude was absolutely badass.
