Save Me by Crux: Review
The musical diversity of Crux is incredible to hear. This is especially true in their single โSave Meโ, where the elements of prog-rock and experimental transitions keep things flowing. Consisting of three tracks, โSave Meโ and its radio edit, also โSpecialist Jewelleryโ a bass and piano-heavy uplifting number.
We start our musical expedition at the heart of a dystopia-style synthesizer in โSave Me.โ Gloomy and equipped with a dark outfit, the track starts off in a prog rock-style rhythm piece. Mixing bass, percussion, and a truly trippy melody that follows. Eventually, the band takes a sudden pause in the verse sequence and just hats the percussion to freely move in a subtle melody. Crux went from moody rock, into a brighter more indie sound at a brisk pace. It was quite thrilling to hear. Iโd have thought they were two different songs, rather witnessing the combination of two different tones intertwining sparked my soul with intrigue. When we reach the main hook of the song, a melodic crescendo greets us. At this stage, the band is at its highest groove and lets out each instrumentโs tension gracefully while the drummer goes all out in maintaining the gripping tempo.
โSpecialist Jewelleryโ is a lovely ambient track. The intro is simply marvelous especially as clean bass notes mix with bright piano chords for a chilling sound. When the choir vocals enter, you know that the trackโs gonna have that layer of ecstasy tied with prog rock. Expect the unexpected with Crux, for theyโll truly cause waves within the music biz folks.
