Scorpio by The Silent Era: Review
The Silent Era makes electrifying alternative rock music. Their sound reminds me of the good old days of the genre back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Also, if it was a major highlight in one’s youth, then they had a blast jamming out to incredible bands! Our artists in the spotlight today ain’t no strangers to that aspect, and they deliver it sensationally with the track “Scorpio.” It’s a memorable piece, with soothing vocal sections blending with gripping rock guitars. Aside from this single, the band also released a cover of Mazzy Star’s hit song “Into Dust.” So, there’s much to talk about; let’s dive in!
“Scorpio” does not waste any time in igniting the fire of alternative rock. The Silent Era just launched into the song’s core with high-octane instrumentals and resonant timbres. A powerful guitar riff drives the energy of the track, while a deep bassline captures a groovy verse. Aside from that, there’s such an intensity to the band. Their aura feels genuine and is a raw expression of the self. It’s musical freedom at play, I tell you!
Mazzy Star would be so proud. To hear their influential song “Into Dust” being reconstructed by The Silent Era was impressive. The original’s folksy vibe is exchanged with an alternative rock outfit, and the dynamic is quite interesting. The band keeps the essence of Mazzy Star’s track intact. Enchanting guitar bits co-exist in a dark atmosphere and are shaped into an otherworldly tone.
