Erik Hansen steps out as a lone wolf after parting ways with his band Fallen Angels and enters the industry with his debut EP Seasons of the Wind, released on March 8. With thrashing guitars and a punk rock-filled ride, Hansen pushes his resilience to the rock scene by coproducing this EP with Pamela Moore of Queensryche fame.
With Chris Gohde on drums and Ericโs father, John Hansen, on pedal steel guitar, the project boasts a stellar lineup of talent.
โThe Roadโ kicks off the EP with upbeat blasts of blazing guitars and thumping drums, setting the stage for whatโs to come. Hansenโs thick, reflective vocals cut through the storm of guitars, taking you out to the road to self-discovery.
โSend Me a Sign,โ the lead single, is a thrashy anthem with hooky guitar rhythms and driving drums that address our grievances with attitude. โHorizonโ offers a softer, more reflective moment, with chiming acoustic guitars and Hansenโs contemplative vocal portraying new beginnings.
โTravelerโ gnarls it up with organic percussion, building the foundation for distorted guitars and trailing vocals helping you lose yourself in its expansive soundscapes and swirling melodies.
Closing out Seasons of the Wind is โForever Dream,โ putting a fitting end to a captivating musical journey. From chiming to gnarly guitars propelled by pounding drums, the singer lays out his voice hazy and hypnotic in the immersive soundscape.
Seasons of the Wind is highly recommended to Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, and Soundgarden. Stay tuned with the rising rock star Erik Hansen as he makes his presence known to the audience.
