American rock band Trapt delivers hard-hitting rock with their latest EP, The Fall (Teaser), released last Nov 24. Fronted by lead singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Taylor Brown, the EP features five tracks that explore themes of self-discovery, resilience, and facing reality head-on.
The opening track, “Try It First,” sets the tone with shredding guitar riffs and Brown’s raspy vocals energetically delivering anthemic lyrics about embracing life’s experiences without regret. The chorus, “How do you know if you don’t like it if you don’t try it first?” serves as a powerful mantra for living life to the fullest.
In “My Devices,” the mood shifts to a darker tone with Brown resigning to the desire to retreat into solitude and grapple with personal demons. “Bulletproof” ramps up the intensity with grinding guitars and an ominous riffing current, as Brown sings about keeping your peace by being emotionally bulletproof.
With soaring vocals and thumping drums, “Can’t Look Away” urges us to face the damage in motion, symbolized by the “cracks in the dam” and not be complacent by looking away.
Closing out The Fall (Teaser) is “Ignorance Is Bliss,” a melodic yet dark exploration of willful ignorance and its consequences. Brown delivers thought-provoking and catchy lyrics and a contagious memorable chorus about the allure of turning a blind eye to the world’s problems.
The Fall (Teaser) showcases Trapt’s signature sound while prepping you for the upcoming full-length album. So stay tuned for the big release!
