Serotonin by Laryssa Birdseye: Review
Portland is a vast hub for rising musicians, especially from the independent scene. Our artist in the spotlight Laryssa Birdseye is based there, and has a charming electro-pop tale present in “Serotonin.” Alongside her producer James Villa, the track is made up of fat synth notes that pay homage to vintage pop hits, and a jammin’ beat keeping it all together. Laryssa’s passionate voice blends with the melody and has a lovely chemistry that you just can’t back down from.
A deep and sentimental ethos sparks the melody of “Serotonin.” Upon hearing each passage, and grasping the lyrics, my senses were drawn to its emotional charm. While in that phase, Laryssa’s praiseworthy voice kept the ode’s theme alive, and I could not have been more delighted. While singing her heart out, and maintaining slow-paced verses, the artist enacted the ideal tone in contrast with the track’s instrumental bits. This created a wonderful synergy, and indeed one of the many strengths of “Serotonin.” It puts on a melodic outfit that is both uplifting as well as heartwarming and draws you in with its cadence. The tune pushes an audience to hear closely, and vibe along with the artist herself.
Keep an eye out for Laryssa Birdseye folks, she’s definitely going places. With tracks like “Serotonin” under her belt, it’s just a matter of time before she takes the music biz by storm. With that being said, do check out her fine number, it’s absolutely fire!
