Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends are back with Sing-Along Songs, and let me tell you—this thing is a cheeky little rocket ride through irony, swagger, and sonic bliss. These Swedes know how to blend retro charm with modern wit, and they’re not afraid to get weird, romantic, or just plain groovy with it. The title track, “Sing-Along Songs,” kicks off like a power-pop carnival, thumping drums, sparkling cymbals, and electric guitars bouncing around like they’re having a sugar rush. The lead vocal is pure confident cool—relaxed, thick, a little smug, a little sexy. He’s not trying too hard, which makes it all the more addictive. It’s the kind of song that struts in, drops a hook, and dares you not to sing along by the second chorus.
Then the B-side, “Your Love,” takes a hard left into soft night-time magic. Crickets chirp, guitars shimmer, and a female voice floats in like moonlight on a still lake, haunting and sweet, oohing in falsetto like some ghost of love’s past. When the main vocals come in, it’s as if the guy’s been put under a spell—hypnotized, trailing behind her presence with this dazed devotion. It’s got all the atmosphere of a late-night love letter written in candlelight and left on a windowsill.
What Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends do so well is this balance: bold and cheeky one moment, then soft and aching the next. Sing-Along Songs is a double-sided dose of strange romance and sonic craftsmanship. Listen to it on Spotify.
