Sinister Things by Aurelia: Review
Gabriella Bavaro, a visual artist, producer, and singer based in New York, developed Aurelia (she/they), as a musical project that fuses electronic and experimental sounds with elements of classical instruments, opera, and global melodies. “Sinister Things” is a melodic track infused with trap beats and sounds composed by Aurelia. It is quite refreshing to hear. This is because of the amazing vocal performances from the artist. I’m telling you right here and now ladies and gents, her voice will truly enlighten you.
Aurelia’s range and skill transcend to a heavenly extent. Imbued with her voice are some dark trap beats and synthesizer effects. Upon listening, the tune starts off on a great note, and you can immediately capture the essence of pop as well as RnB in Aurelia’s singing nature. She flawlessly enters the atmosphere and blends beautifully with the beat and keyboard structure. I got a vibe within “Sinister Things” on the avant-garde side and it sounds truly experimental and a joy to hear. Later on, in the second half of the track, Aurelia’s singing prowess just amps up into a powerful ascension with higher ranges and an immense passionate performance with her poetic lyrics. The beauty and elegance of the instrumentation truly reflect well on Aurelia’s vocals, it’s just so darn stylish and has finesse written all over it.
If you’re in the mood to listen to something extremely catchy and thought-provoking then “Sinister Things” by Aurelia will truly resonate with you. The solid instrumentation with an electronica twist as well as the overall flow and transitions within the song make it an absolute treat to hear from start to finish.
