Small Talk by Sophie Said: Review
“Small Talk” is a superb RnB song that will leave you in awe. This aspect is brought on by sensational singer-songwriter Sophie Said. Her lyrical and rhythmic ideas are outstanding, and this is portrayed pretty darn well in “Small Talk.” Her soulful vocals are carried alongside electronic segments, and the energy is quite infectious!
Sophie Said’s vocal chops are impressive. Whenever she sings, maximum effort is ensured, and there’s plenty of grace attached to the performance as well. Her technique pays homage to classic 1990s and early 2000s RnB hits, which were a huge part of my upbringing. Whenever MTV or VH1 came on, the smoothest tracks of the genre played out. I was glued to the screen, and my ears felt blessed. So, “Small Talk” brings along those aspects, all with a sense of elegance and charm. Sophie Said accomplishes that feat with an evocative performance, that we’ll remember and cherish and fondly.
The instrumental facets of “Small Talk” are mind-blowing. Especially the bass line! I’m always a fan of funk bass bits in a track, and this one had a silky-smooth arrangement that impressed me to the core. With that said ladies and gents, don’t miss out on the melodic thrill of Sophie Said’s work!
