Someone Else by Eraste: Review
Hailing from Texas, Eraste is a passionate musician who enjoys making melodies about her emotions and conveying them through powerful piano and synth melodies. Her song “Someone Else” is an exquisite ode to pop, and her delightful voice feels like a warm spring breeze carrying you away somewhere serene.
When asked about her motivation behind composing “Someone else” her thoughts was about living in a society always engaged in comparisons of one another. Eraste wrote “Someone Else” while experiencing isolation and a form of an identity crisis. Her lyrical composition is quite natural, and with the blend of her instruments this song really feels quite wholesome. Dear reader, if you were ever going through something similar, let the music of Eraste surround you and cover you like a warm blanket.
The beats on this song are quite minimalist, but heavy. They bring out the velocity of the music, and while Eraste is singing there is a sense of courage that can be felt from her words. It is her daring nature that is expressed ever so beautifully from her synth-heavy verses and enchanting melodies. The song starts off slow and takes flight in a majestic fashion. Definitely, the highlight of Someone Else is Eraste’s lyrics, and you can truly grasp her experiences, all you need to do is hear. While listening to her song on Spotify, I was quite captivated by her music. The raw emotion she portrays, through her piano and voice, will make you ponder about the connections we have with loved ones.
