There is something wonderfully cinematic about “Something about you,” the latest single from Irish solo artist, songwriter, and producer Shi-N0bi. Built around a vivid memory from his late teens, the song captures that strange, exhilarating moment when friendship suddenly starts feeling like something much more dangerous. A late-night drive, a close friend in the passenger seat, unspoken attraction hanging in the air—the ingredients are simple, but Shi-N0bi turns them into an energetic electronic-pop rush.
The track hits the accelerator almost immediately. Hard-hitting beats drive underneath melodies that shimmer and float above the arrangement, giving the song both forward motion and a dreamy glow. The husky vocal carries the emotional weight, singing passionately about falling hard, losing control, and wondering whether the person beside him feels the same pull. The delivery keeps the verses intimate while the repeated “There is something about you” hook opens everything up into a bright, infectious chorus.
The lyrics do much of the storytelling. Midnight streets, windows down, bubblegum music on the radio, and a girl dancing beside him with her eyes closed create an almost film-like opening scene. Then the uncertainty creeps in: they’re “only friends,” but perhaps they could be something else. The narrator is caught between wanting to confess and wanting to preserve the moment, until even the car seems to embody his recklessness—he’s running red lights because he’s too distracted by what he’s feeling.
Shi-N0bi produced the entire track independently from his bedroom-turned-studio, spending three months building the instrumental in Fender Studio Pro and programming vocals in Dreamtonics Synthesizer V Studio Pro. An AI-assisted final polish gives the master its radio-ready sheen, while a separate Raw Studio Mix lets listeners hear the production in a less polished form.
Ultimately, “Something about you” is a love song with its foot on the gas: glossy, energetic, nostalgic, and just vulnerable enough to make that midnight drive feel like your own.
