Raynald Grenier evokes deep emotions through the simplicity of piano melodies in his latest single, ‘Sonatina in C sharp.’ It was released on December 1 as the ‘Opus 2’ from The Piano Solo Collection series.
Influenced by musical luminaries such as Andrew Lloyd Weber, John Williams, and Ennio Morricone, Grenier’s composition unfolds with a poignant piano piece.
The opening bright and shrill keys create a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. Shifting dynamically, the piano recedes to richer streams and darker undertones. As the piano fleets to the higher keys only to have the piano halt at 2:11 minutes gravely, the music comes full circle. The waves of the piano keys serve as dynamic shifts in the music, creating a sense of ebb and flow.
Even though the music flowed like a gushing stream that saw changes in its courses and its descending and became more or less vigorous, its pattern did not change. Grenier ensured that the imagery of the path smoothly transitioned to its following stages. And it ended up manifesting consistent healing and soothing in our own journies of life.
