Songbird: Part One by Jennifer Alvarado: Review
6 Songs and 21 minutes of just pure bliss. โSongbird: Part Oneโ by Jennifer Alvarado is truly a special EP. I believe anyone who will listen to Jenniferโs voice, and all the instruments that work in the song will instantly be hooked on the music. Her voice is easygoing and feels like a sweet breeze on a summer evening. The music she has composed has elements of Soft Rock and Pop Rock. You can absolutely understand Jenniferโs feelings in her song because she is very expressive with her tune.
The tracks on the EP are โ โRock this wayโ (which by the way won both the โBest Pop Songโ and โBest Overall Songโ awards at the Indie Songwriting Awardsโ Spring 2022 ceremony), itโs a catchy rock song with some impressive guitar and vocal playthroughs. Next is โCuriousโ a very moody and passionate song with an amazing chorus, Jenniferโs voice truly shines here. The 3rd track is entitled โSomethingโs Upโ and it has a certain sway to the song, the percussion and Jenniferโs flow are responsible for that. The sparkling overdriven guitar tone is also quite nice to hear.
โFilthy Waterโ is a song that in my opinion is about pain, because for some reason I can resonate with that feeling when I hear the beauty of the melody, voice, and echoing guitar notes in the background. โQuestionsโ is an energetic pop track thatโs just a feel-good number, and I truly enjoyed that guitar solo too! The final track feels like a fitting end to the EP, named โBy This Time Next Yearโ, which is an acoustic-driven, and emotionally heavy song. There is such a powerful sentiment in the acoustic guitarโs riffs and chords, and Jenniferโs voice, itโs all remarkable.
