Strange Times by Toby Pearce: Review
“Strange Times” is a soft-rock song by Toby Pearce, with captivating poetry and uplifting melodies. The track was co-produced by John Reynolds and invites their musical presence on it as well. Aside from that, “Strange Times” is a personal reflection on Toby’s life depicted through stellar guitars and lively percussions keeping it all together.
When you combine a genuine message with a stunning voice, a beautiful song comes to fruition. Such is the tale of Toby’s tune “Strange Times.” It’s one of those melodies that hit you right in the deepest part of your soul, ‘cause its relativity and emotion are undeniable. The themes explored in the track are paths we’ve all walked, some less, some more, but altogether a humane experience to have undertaken. This is the biggest indicator and strength of “Strange Times”, and a spectacular one at that.
Along with the song’s lyrics, the instrumental facets are also worth mentioning. From light acoustic notes to subtle electric guitars, Strange Times’ instrumental bits truly shine. Tagging along with these aspects is a calming rhythm piece, that sounds a lot like a piano arrangement. Anyway, the vibe has every bit of finesse you could imagine in a soft-rock piece, with a guitar solo sprinkled on top of it. Which by the way, will rock your very soul with its reverbed tone. Since it was placed almost near the tune’s exit, it made anticipating the solo all the more exciting the second time around, or the tenth.
