Street Lights by DJ Overture: Review
Throughout history, music has been regarded as an art form of expression and communication that allows the rest of the world to glimpse into the artistโs vision. Itโs no surprise that music producer and DJ Overtureโs new single, โStreet lights,โ echoes the peaceful and laid-back vibes of a man who says, โI smoke a lot of weed then make music.โ
The well-crafted, atmospheric lo-fi beat has a sense of coziness and warmth that is intricately woven into its fabric. Itโs clever and brings back so many memories of the Walkman and mixtape era that he chose to begin and end the song with a sound effect from a cassette tape. To explain how DJ Overture saw the music he was making: โIt has simple and clean chords with a bright little counter-melody on top. The drums feel slow and sluggish kinda like walking home after a long dayโ. While the artist has another scene in mind, this tune could easily be the soundtrack to many different occasions in your life. Itโs ideal for a day at the beach, a coffee shop conversation, a long road trip, or a sensual late night with noise-canceling headphones. Put it on and youโll look right at home. Five years into making music, Ohio-based DJ Overture was finally able to overcome his self-doubt and put his foot down to advance his career. And we are so happy that he did because, as a result, we now have this little treasure in our lives called โStreet lights.โ
