Sasha Joy, with her latest single “Summer’s Come,” taps into something even more luminous. Released on July 11 and streaming everywhere, the track is easy on the ears but rich with detail and glows with golden-hour warmth, like sunlight filtered through glass.
Right from the jump, you’re pulled into its crisp, thumping groove as those shaking, jittery percussive textures almost dance under your skin. Add to that some deliciously melodic guitar licks and soft, soulful backing vocals, and you get this fresh and nostalgic tune. On the other hand, Sasha sings with a silky and soothing voice, almost as if she’s crooning from the other side of a dream. There’s a slight echo to it, like she’s standing behind glass, watching the world unfold in slow motion.
The production, led by Sanga Toto and polished by the pros at Globe Audio Mastering, is tight and thoughtful. From the subtle funk undertones to the hints of Balkan vocal flair that sneak in during the bridge, the track gets a worldlier spin over its breezy charm.
What really ties it all together, though, is Sasha Joy’s artistic confidence. “Summer’s Come” simply sways and glides, showing us that joy can be soft, and that sometimes, the lightest songs leave the deepest mark. With this release, Sasha is showing us a whole state of being, and doing it like she’s showing us her innermost self. Listen to it on Spotify.
