Takeoff and Quavo Release a Chaos-Inspired “Messy” Music Video
Quavo and Takeoff recently released their collaborative album Only Built For Infinity Links, and now they’ve released the official music video for “Messy,” one of the project’s lead songs, which was directed by Quavo and Daps.
In the opening part of the video, a bewildered Quavo wakes up a dozing Takeoff inside a car and informs him that he dreamed about “some messy a** s***.” The two wake up and discover themselves rapping within a house decorated for Halloween. As the title suggests, things quickly become chaotic as people start tossing food at one another across a dining table, a heated card game degenerates into a yelling war, and a couple quarrels while a couple of kids run through the hallways.
“Don’t let that broke b**** in ’cause she too messy/Who the f them broke boys with? Get out my section,” Takeoff raps on the chorus. “Just pulled a muscle, goddamn, too much flexin’.”
Only Built for Infinity Links, Quavo and Takeoff’s first album sans Offset as a fellow Migo, made its Billboard 200 debut earlier this month at No. 7. The 18-track project, which clocks in at over an hour, includes guest performances from Mustard on “See Bout It,” YoungBoy Never Broke Again on “To The Bone,” Young Thug and Gunna on “Chocolate,” Summer Walker on “Mixy,” Birdman on “Big Stunna,” and Gucci Mane on “Us vs. Them.” The album’s production credits include work by Murda Beatz, DJ Durel, Money Musik, Budda Beats, and others.
