From Vancouver Island, alt-rock firebrand Vogue Villians unveils their latest sonic scorcher, “Tastes Like Sin.” This is also the fifth intoxicating taste of their forthcoming debut LP, Built On Bones. Released on January 5th, this audacious anthem is anything but a fleeting amuse-bouche. “Tastes Like Sin” is a full-blown sonic feast, exploding with enough venomous swagger to satiate even the most jaded rock palate.
The track kicks off with a rhythmic riffage that snakes its way through your ears, guitars intertwining like viperous tongues. The instrumentals collide headily, with guitars grinding against crashing drums and powerhouse vocals. The vocals are deep, thick, and taut weapons that could cut with electrifying rock energy.
Beneath the infectious melodies and visceral aggression lies a deliciously dark narrative. “Tastes Like Sin” spins a fantastical tale of moonlit revenge, where wronged women exact delicious payback on their tormentors. VV gets us provoked in thought with their headbanging hooks and introspective storytelling.
But of course, “Tastes Like Sin” is a live beast waiting to be unleashed. Vogue Villians have already honed their teeth on stages across Western Canada, sharing the bill with rock powerhouses like We Hunt Buffalo and Wise Youngblood. Their upcoming 2024 tour promises to be a baptism by fire for audiences unfamiliar with their potent blend of sonic fury and lyrical intrigue.
If this is just a taste of what “Built On Bones” has in store, the world better prepare for a seismic shift in the rock landscape. Prepare to be consumed because Vogue Villians are serving up sin, and it’s absolutely delectable.
