‘Tempo’ is Matteo Bocelli’s new single. The song will appear on his debut album, which will be published by Capitol Records in 2023.
Matteo Bocelli, the acclaimed singer/songwriter, has a new track, “Tempo,” which was published today in English and Spanish, with a line in Italian thrown in for good measure.
The infectious, finger-snapping track was produced by Ido Zmishlany (Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Imagine Dragons), and Bocelli sings, “Something in the way you move it’s almost like the music follows you / Something in the way your body doesn’t need a beat to find the groove / So I’m asking you / Give me your tempo.” “Tempo” was written by Matteo Bocelli, Zmishlany, Nolan Sipe, and Max Wolfgang. The song will appear on his debut album, which will be published by Capitol Records in 2023.
The Fiat New 500 La Prima By Bocelli’s European/UK advertising campaign will feature “Tempo.” In the official English language trailer for “Tempo,” the elegant new vehicle sets the tone for a wild ride around Tuscany.
After interrupting Bocelli’s rehearsal at the Manolo Valdes Opera at Lajatico’s renowned Teatro del Silenzio, his pals go on a whirlwind tour of the region where he grew up, taking in the natural beauty of the land and the coast. According to Matteo Bocelli “Last year in Italy, one of the first songs I co-wrote was ‘Tempo,’ and I fell in love with it right away. It’s a lively, up-tempo song with a strong emotional component. It’s something I truly believe in, and I’m hoping it’ll be the summer’s soundtrack. Fiat chose ‘Tempo’ as the soundtrack for their new commercial, which I am incredibly grateful for.”
“Tempo” is the latest in a string of emotionally charged singles from Bocelli, including “Until She’s Gone,” a collaboration with Colombian singer-songwriter Sebastián Yatra that was recorded in English, Spanish, and Italian, “Close,” which Bocelli performed on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in January, and his aptly named debut single “Solo,” which has amassed over seven million combined global streams to date.
Bocelli started playing the piano at the age of six. At the age of 18, he made his stage debut at the Rome Colosseum, singing Verdi. Matteo’s mellifluous vocals and textured piano playing were first heard on Andrea Bocelli’s chart-topping S album’s “Fall on Me,” an English/Italian duet he co-wrote.
The song has over 300 million global streams after being used as the music for Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. He recently toured the United States with his father, opera great Andrea Bocelli, which featured two performances at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
